The firm has been managing investments on behalf of individual investors and institutions for thirty years and looks after the investments for pension funds, charities, institutions and private individuals. It’s highly successful fund management business is part of a global financial services company focused on helping clients move and manage their financial assets, operating in over 35 countries and serving more than 100 markets
Role
- Active investment communication across the client’s distribution business
- To provide a broad range of investment communications across the company’s product range, including regular reporting on ranges of mutual funds, support of wholesale and institutional marketing functions and press enquiries.
Responsibilities
- Be the first point of contact to assist wholesale marketing team with written material for key products and product launches within the company range
- To produce monthly economic and market overviews for distribution to clients and inclusion in other marketing materials.
- To provide monthly and quarterly commentary in a timely and accurate manner for Dublin-domiciled ICVCs.
- To produce ad hoc responses to market or fund-specific events, outlook or performance queries.
- Responsible for the provision of written commentaries for the firm’s Reports & Account document
- Editing and proof reading of investment documents produced elsewhere within the group for wider external distribution.
General:
- Provide accurate and appropriate management information to Senior Management.
- Comply with all corporate policies relevant to the functions managed including Health and Safety Policy.
Financial:
- Manage any delegated budget in a manner that will best serve best interests and provide the Finance Department with monthly tracking and projection information.
Compliance:
- Be aware of current regulatory and legal obligations of the function managed.
- Report any suspected breaches to the Compliance or Legal departments, as appropriate, immediately on discovery.
Risk Management:
- Monitor, document and report business risks and internal controls of the function managed, alerting Senior Management immediately of any significant changes.
Business Continuity:
- Maintain and test a current and effective continuity plan to ensure an appropriate response to any disruption to systems, information services, communications and office facilities.
Staff (if appropriate):
- Provide clear direction and leadership to teams managed.
- Set professional example to staff.
- Supports and encourage staff development, objective setting and appraisal.
- Ensure adequate succession plans are in place for the functions managed.
Person specification
- Is likely to have a minimum of two year’s relevant experience in a similar financial writing role, although this may have been gained in a parallel sector.
- Must demonstrate exacting attention to detail and a commitment to producing highly accurate and timely financial copy.
- Will be able to maintain a consistent and professional approach within a highly pressurized environment.
- Should have a good knowledge of the financial industry and an awareness of current affairs and general industry trends.
- Must have a flexible approach to work, be self- motivated and able to work well as part of a team.
- Will be able to provide recent examples of similar work generated in advance of any interview.
- Fluency in Spanish or Italian would be ideal.
- Proficient in MS Office
- Degree level educated or equivalent work experience
